CALGARY SELECTS 7 ... LANGLEY YOUTH ALL-STARS 6

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team began play at the AllStar Youth Football Tournament in Langley, BC on Friday with a narrow 7-6 victory over the Langley Youth All-Stars on a heavily snow covered field.
Cassidy Tan (Hilltoppers) scored the only Calgary touchdown on a 2 yard run. Cole Sabine (Wildcats) added the game deciding convert.
The Selects will now take on the South Delta Rams on Saturday at McLeod Stadium in Langley, BC. Game time is 12:00 PM PST.

CALGARY SELECTS 8 ... LANGLEY YOUTH ALL-STARS 6

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team wrapped up play at the AllStar Youth Football Tournament in Delta, BC as Tournament Champions on Sunday with a narrow 8-6 victory over the Langley Youth All-Stars.
Scoring for Calgary was Cassidy Tan (Hilltoppers) with a 15 yard touchdown run. Cole Sabine (Wildcats) added the convert as well as a missed field goal single point.

CALGARY SELECTS 42 VANCOUVER ALL-STARS 4

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team wrapped up play at the AllStar Youth Football Tournament in Langley, BC on Sunday with a thrilling 42-41 last-minute victory over the Vancouver All-Stars and in the process were crowned tournament champions.

Zach Krottner (Stampeders) led the way for the Selects with touchdown runs of 50 and 3 yards. Quarterback KJ Stembridge (Bulldogs) had two touchdown passes of 30 yards to Max McCarty (Colts) and 80 yards to Michael Delgado (Mavericks). Also scoring for Calgary were Romareo Reid (Cyclones) with an 80 yard kickoff return and Daniel Flanagan (Cowboys Grey) who recovered a blocked punt in the end zone. Jonathan Giustini (Mavericks) added 3 converts and the winning 25 yard field goal with eight seconds remaining in the contest.

CALGARY SELECTS 36 LANGLEY YOUTH ALL-STARS 16

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team began play at the AllStar Youth Football Tournament in Langley, BC on Friday with a resounding 36-16 victory over the Langley Youth All-Stars.

Romareo Reid (Cyclones) opened the scoring for Calgary when he took the opening kickoff 80 yards to the end zone. Leading the way for the Selects was Gavin Thomas (Cowboys Grey) with 2 touchdown runs of 50 and 45 yards. Also scoring for Calgary was Payton Burbank (Eagles) on a 2 yard plunge as well as Logan Johnson (Cowboys Grey) with a 16 yard scamper. Jonathan Giustini (Mavericks) added 3 converts and a 30 yard field goal

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team began tournament play on Thursday at the 2013 Pilgrim Bowl with a hard fought 17-6 defeat at the hands of the Tri-County Metro East All-Stars. This year marks the fifteenth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.
Calgary's only score of the game came on a 30 yard fumble recovery run by linebacker Joe Dutton (Cowboys - Grey)

The Selects will now take on the Belleville All-Stars at 2:00 PM CST on Friday and will wrap up the tournament on Sunday as they try to exact revenge against the Tri-County Metro East All-Stars at 12:30 pm CST.

CALGARY SELECTS 47 VS BELLEVILLE ALL-STARS 0

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team continued tournament play on Friday at the 2013 Pilgrim Bowl with a resounding 47-0 victory over the Belleville All-Stars. This year marks the fifteenth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.

Leading the way for Calgary was Jacob Izquierdo (Cowboys Grey) with touchdown receptions of 60 yards from quarterback Tae Gordon (Lions) and 16 yards from Declan O'Flaherty (Colts). Other Selects touchdowns were scored by O'Flaherty on a 1 yard plunge, Gordon on a 10 yard dash, Frazer Toenjes (Colts) on a 23 yard scamper and Tyler Santos (Bulldogs) on a 5 yard rush. Izquierdo added 4 conversions and a field goal to cap off the scoring.

The Selects will wrap up their Pilgrim Bowl schedule on Sunday as they try to exact revenge in a re-match of Thursday's defensive battle against the Tri-County Metro East All-Stars at 12:30 pm CST.

CALGARY SELECTS 25 TRI COUNTY METRO EAST ALL-STARS 15

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team wrapped up tournament play on Sunday at the 2013 Pilgrim Bowl with an impressive come from behind 25-15 victory over theTri County Metro East All-Stars. This year marks the fifteenth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.

Down 15-6 at half time, the Selects roared back with 19 unanswered points in the second to win the contest. Scoring for Calgary were Tae Gordon (Lions) on a 2 yard run as well as Frazer Toenjes (Colts) on a 25 yard reception on a pass from Gordon. Jacob Izquierdo (Cowboys Grey) added 3 field goals and a conversion. The defense also chipped in with a safety.

The Selects will return home on Monday with a 2-1 record at the Pilgrim Bowl. The travelling Selects have compiled an impressive 39-7-1 record in the fifteen trips to Belleville.

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team began tournament play on Thursday at the 2012 Pilgrim Bowl with a hard fought 16-8 victory over the Tri County Metro East All-Stars. This year marks the fourteenth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.

A defensive first half ended with the teams deadlocked 2-2. Christian Sherman (Bulldogs) then broke the game open in the third quarter with a 70 yard scamper for the go ahead touchdown. Later, Jordan Baldwin (Lions) scored on a 30 yard run. Des Catellier (Lions) added 1 conversion.
The Selects will now take on the Chicago Panthers at 6:00 PM CST on Friday and will wrap up the tournament on Sunday against an as yet undetermined opponent.

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team continued play on Friday at the 2012 Pilgrim Bowl with a resounding 48-0 victory over the Chicago Panthers. This year marks the fourteenth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.

Leading the way for Calgary was Jacob Izquierdo (Cowboys Grey) with 3 touchdowns. Izquierdo scored on a 25 yard run as well as two passes of 30 and 5 yards from quarterback Connley McQuaig (Cowboys Navy). Christian Sherman (Bulldogs) stepped up with two touchdown runs of 10 and 5 yards. Robert Stewart (Bulldogs) capped off the scoring with a 20 yard gallop. Des Catellier (Cochrane Lions) converted all 6 touchdowns.
The Selects will wrap up their Pilgrim Bowl schedule on Sunday at 11:00 AM CST.

CALGARY SELECTS 54 .... BELLEVILLE LITTLE KNIGHTS 0


The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team wrapped up tournament play on Sunday at the 2011 Pilgrim Bowl with a resounding 54-0 triumph over the host Belleville Little Knights. This year marks the thirteenth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.

Quarterback Colton Hunchak (Mavericks) had two touchdown passes of 50 and 5 yards to Spencer Mahura (Cowboys) and Brandon Tillman (Stampeders). Mahura also threw a 25 yard touchdown to Brett Ellerman (Cowboys). Anthony Arnold (Stampeders) had two touchdown runs of 15 and 14 yards. Also scoring for the Selects were Christian Sherman (Bulldogs), Noah Motter (Stampeders) and Brendan Hansen (Eagles) on runs of 10, 2 and 10 yards respectively. Kaedon Armstrong (Mavericks) added 3 converts.

The Selects will return home on Monday with a 3-0 record at the Pilgrim Bowl. The travelling Selects have compiled an impressive 34-6-1 record in the thirteen trips to Belleville.

CALGARY SELECTS 62 .... CENTREVILLE TIGERS 14

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team continued play on Friday at the 2011 Pilgrim Bowl with a resounding 62-14 victory over the Centreville Tigers, a St. Louis area league champion. This year marks the thirteenth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.

Leading the way for Calgary was Colton Hunchak (Mavericks) with touchdowns on a 16 yard run as well as a 5 yard pass from Spencer Mahura (Cowyboys). Hunchak also completed an 88 yard pass to Brett Ellerman (Cowboys) for a touchdown. Also scoring rushing touchdowns were Brenden Hansen (Eagles), Noah Motter (Stampeders), Christian Sherman (Bulldogs) and Anthony Arnold (Stampeders), on runs of 5, 2, 35 and 6 yards respectively. Patrick Apuzzo (Mavericks) capped off the Calgary scoring with a 10 yard inception for a touchdown. Kaedon Armstrong (Mavericks) added 7 converts.

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team began tournament play on Thursday at the 2011 Pilgrim Bowl with a 38-13 victory over the Tri County All-Stars. This year marks the thirteenth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.

Leading the way for Calgary was Brett Ellerman (Cowboys) with 2 touchdown receptions of 45 and 20 yards, both thrown by quarterback Spencer Mahura (Cowboys). Other Selects touchdowns were scored by Brandon Tillman (Stampeders) on a 30 yard pass from Colton Hunchak (Mavericks), Christian Sherman (Bulldogs) on a 22 yard run and Jesse Halvorson (Cowboys) on a 60 yard scamper. Kaedon Armstrong (Mavericks) added 4 converts.

At the conclusion of each season the CBFA assembles a League All-Star team which practices for three weeks and then travels to the United States to play in a tournament against comparable teams. These tournaments are played using American rules which gives an additional challenge to our players.

The last 5seasons have seen our Select Team travel to St. Louis, Missouri over the American Thanksgiving weekend to participate in the Pilgrim Bowl. This is a congegration of hundreds of teams of all ages and sizes. Our team has been extremely successful compiling the following win / loss records.
