CALGARY SELECTS ... 31 ... BELLEVILLE LITTLE KNIGHTS ... 0

The Calgary Bantam Football Association’s Select team wrapped up tournament play on Sunday at the 2010 Pilgrim Bowl with a resounding 31-0 triumph over the host Belleville Little Knights. This year marks the twelfth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.

Josh Duazo (Storm) opened the scoring on a 2 yard run set up by an intercetion from Dalton Winkworth (Stampeders). Alex Cho (Falcons) then scored on a 10 yard scamper. On the next 2 drives the Selects went to the air game and scored twice. The first was a 15 yard pass to Spencer Mahura (Cowboys) from Ben Kopczynski (Wildcats). Later, Duazo scored on a 10 yard completion from Mahura to make the score 29-0 after the first quarter. The Selects added a safety in the fourth quarter. Micah Teitz (Wildcats) converted 2 of the touchdowns and Kopczynski also ran a convert in.

The Selects will return home on Monday with a 2-1 record at the Pilgrim Bowl. The travelling Selects have compiled an impressive 31-6-1 record in the twelve trips to Belleville.

COLLINSVILLE RAIDERS ... 25 ... CALGARY SELECTS ... 11

The Calgary Bantam Football Association’s Select team continued play on Friday at the 2010 Pilgrim Bowl with a 25-11 defeat at the hands of the Collinsville Raiders. This year marks the twelfth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.

Calgary's lone touchdown came courtesy of a 70 yard kickoff return by Tyler Chow (Hilltoppers)in the third quarter. Micah Teitz (Wildcats) added the convert and had an earlier field goal.

The Selects will wrap up their Pilgrim Bowl schedule against the host Belleville Little Knights on Sunday at 1:00 PM CST.


CALGARY SELECTS ... 34 ... MATHEWS-DICKEY (ST. LOUIS) BULLDOGS ... 6

The Calgary Bantam Football Association’s Select team began tournament play on Thursday at the 2010 Pilgrim Bowl with a 34-6 victory over the Mathews-Dickey (St. Louis) Bulldogs. This year marks the twelfth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.


Leading the way for Calgary was Tyler Chow (Hilltoppers) with 2 touchdowns on runs of 95 and 35 yards. Other Selects touchdowns were scored by Alex Cho (Falcons) on a 9 yard run, Sam Dyer (Cowboys) with a 20 yard interception return and quarterback Ben Kopczynski (Wildcats) on a 25 yard scramble. Micah Teitz (Wildcats) added 2 converts.

The Selects will now take on the Collinsville Raiders at 12:30 PM CST on Friday and will wrap up the tournament against the host Belleville Little Knights on Friday at 1:00 PM CST on Sunday.
